We are on the downhill slide of summer. YAY! I know most people love summer; the long, warm, lazy sunny days they never want to end. Me, I breathe easy when there is low humidity. You know the southern forecast this time of year: hazy, hot, and humid with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Needless to say, I've been hibernating, counting down the days til cooler weather prevails.
What have I/we been doing? There is always something to do when you own a home. The fun part was replacing the stove top and dishwasher. I believe the dishwasher was the first appliance we replaced when we moved in nearly nine years ago. This week we had our refrigerator fixed. No more water on the floor! Gene is the best!
The big focus has been purging. When we got married, DH and I combined our households and started having babies. We are now, finally, going through the house, room-by-room, getting rid of whatever we don't love or use. In fact, we are replacing single-use items with those that are dual-purpose whenever we can. It is freeing, yet frustrating; we want to do it faster! We want to be done! No doubt DH is hoping I have turned into a Minimalist. Perhaps I will surprise him with how *little* we actually keep?
