Yogaahhh!

Many moons ago, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try Yoga.  I don't really recall why, but I found a local instructor and started attending class.  The instructor and I have grown to be wonderful friends, and I must say that Yoga certainly helps me stay in tune w/ my body.  Yoga in the winter time is the best. Class would start with the sun going down and finish with us bathed in candlelight!

This month I'm committed to doing Yoga three times each week.  So far it's been fabulous!!!  I'm like a kid in the candy store:  I make the room real dark, get my mat, blanket, and strap out, light my candles, put on the music and really make it all about me; totally focusing on my breathing and what  my body is telling me.

I am very interested in doing Yoga outside and look forward to doing that this summer.  :-)  Hmm, nude Yoga sounds pretty enticing as well.  Guess we'll keep that one indoors, huh?  ;-)

Remember, my friend Nikki says to live, love, laugh, share, and pay it forward!
Peace!

It's The Little Things

For the second half of January, my focus was on eating two cups of fruits each day, which is four servings.  Combined w/ the five servings of veggies, this totals nine servings of fruits and veggies each day.  It ends up being quite a bit of food!

Clementines have been great to have in the house.  They're quick to peel and eat and smell delicious!
Carrots are another thing I like to have on hand.  Keep them peeled, cut, and ready to go so when you've let your blood sugar get too low, just grab and scarf.  :-)   Nuts provide a protein to pair with the carbs for when you are on the go.

My mainstay during the afternoon remains to be soup for lunch.  As cold as its been, this has been a tasty way to stay warm.  This summer, I suppose I'll learn to make cold soups.  A new adventure!  :-)

Live, love, laugh, share, and pay it forward, per Nikki!
Peace!
